Am Alltagsvelo oder Winter-Trainingsrad sind fest montierte Schutzbleche einfach praktisch. Die Montage ist mit den passenden Gewindeösen am Rahmen und Gabel kaum aufwendiger als bei Steckschutzblechen und einmal angebaut bieten die oft enger anliegenden Schutzbleche einen sehr hohen Schutz vor Spritzwasser und Straßendreck, den man unmöglich zu Hause vergessen kann. Auch Gelegenheitsdiebe haben bei fest montierten Blechen wenig Chancen zur Mitnahme. Das geringfügig aufwendigere Halterungssystem sorgt in der Regel für einen festeren und klapperfreien Sitz der Bleche. Da sie in Form und Konstruktion weniger flexibel sind, sollte man beim Kauf neben der Breite auf jeden Fall auch auf den vom Hersteller angegebenen Raddurchmesser achten.
