Schutzbleche
Bei regennasser Fahrbahn, Pfützen und Schlamm sind die Vorteile von Schutzblechen offensichtlich. Gerade wer sein Velo viel im Alltag nutzt, möchte auch bei schlechtem Wetter noch sauber absteigen. Fest montierte Schutzbleche, die sich eng um den Pneu schmiegen, sind für den Alltagsbetrieb die erste Wahl, wenn an Rahmen und Gabel die nötigen Befestigungsmöglichkeiten vorhanden sind. Sportliche Fahrer werden häufig flexible Stecksysteme bevorzugen, um bei gutem Wetter auf die Bleche verzichten zu können. Mountainbiker, die regelmässig auf sehr schlammigen Wegen unterwegs sind, sollten auf Schutzbleche setzten, die weniger Dicht dem Reifen folgen, um die Reifenfreiheit im matschigen Geläuf nicht einzuschränken. Auch für Federgabeln und gefederte Hinterbauten gibt es passende Schutzblechlösungen, die keine Gewindeösen an Rahmen und Gabel benötigen.
